- Roberto Arbeláez:
Es Ingeniero de Sistemas y Computación de la
Universidad de los Andes - Colombia y Magister en Ingeniería de Sistemas
y Computación con concentración en Seguridad de la
Información de la
Universidad de los Andes - Colombia. Le han sido otorgadas las
certificaciones CISSP (Certified
Information Systems Security
Professional), y CISA (Certified
Information Systems Auditor) entre
otras. Ha sido profesor universitario en Programas de postgrado en
Seguridad Informática y Auditoría de Sistemas.
- Wim Biemolt:
Is one of the members of SURFcert, the Computer Security
Incident Response Team (CSIRT) of SURFnet, the National Research and
Educational Network of the Netherlands, or the Internet provider of
the Dutch academic community and many research organizations in the
Netherlands. SURFcert deals with computer security incidents in which
SURFnet is involved as a victim, intermediate or a suspect.
- Ronaldo Castro de Vasconcellos:
He is a Security Analyst at the Brazilian Academic and
Research Network CSIRT (CAIS/RNP) since 2004. He holds a Systems
Analysis bachelor degree from Pontifical University of
Campinas (PUCC), Network Specialist degree from State University of
Campinas (Unicamp), GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH) and
GIAC Assessing Wireless Networks (GAWN) certifications from the SANS
Institute. He is also a member of the GIAC Advisory Board and proctor
for GIAC exams in Brazil. He is currently pursuing an MBA degree in
Information Technology from Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV).
- Marcelo Chaves:
Marcelo Chaves is a Security Analyst at CERT.br, the Brazilian National
CERT, maintained by NIC.br, from the Brazilian Internet Steering
Committee. He has a degree in Computer Science, and a Masters in Applied
Computing, focused on network security, by the National Institute for
Space Research (INPE). Marcelo worked as an incident handler and
currently is more involved with R&D, specially with the development of
tools, based on honeypots and honeynets, to better understand current
attack trends, correlating this data with incidents reported to CERT.br.
Marcelo has been a speaker in several national and international events,
talking about many different information security topics, including
incident handling, honeypots, online fraud, and spam.
- Lorena Donoso:
Abogado (U. de Chile). Master en Informática y Derecho (U.
Complutense de Madrid). Profesor Asistente (Jornada Parcial) de la Facultad de Derecho.
Profesor de cátedra del curso Informática y Derecho. Directora académica
del Magister en Derecho Informático de la Facultad de Derecho de la
Universidad de Chile.
- Eduardo Godoy: Es Gerente Desarrollo de
Negocios para Chile. Es Ingeniero Civil en Computación
titulado en la Universidad de Chile.
Tiene 13 años de experiencia en la industria IT.
Antes de unirse a Intel, desempeñó cargos de jefatura de
desarrollo de proyectos, arquitectura y operaciones. Adicionalmente,
tiene 13 años como profesor part-time del Departamento de
Ciencias de la Computación de la Facultad de Ciencias
Físicas y Matemáticas de la Universidad de Chile.
- Ezequiel Gutesman:
Es investigador en Corelabs, el equipo de investigación de
Core Security Technologies desde 2005, estudiante de ciencias de la
computación en la Universidad de Buenos Aires y docente.
En el pasado ha presentado trabajos en conferencias como Blackhat USA y
Hack.Lu (Luxembourg) como así también en las jornadas de
Informática e Investigación Operativa en Argentina.
Entre sus áreas de investigación se encuentran la seguridad
en aplicaciones web, tecnologías inalámbricas y de
evaluación de riesgo.
- Alejandro Hevia:
He received his Bachelor and Engineering degree in Computer Science from the University of Chile in 1995 and 1998 respectively, and his Ph.D. in Computer Science from University of California, San Diego (UCSD) in 2006. Since then, he is at the School of Engineering of the University of Chile where he is now Assistant Professor at the Department of Computer Science. His research interests include cryptography and computer security, in particular, cryptographic protocols for distributed systems (voting, anonymity, back-up systems), and malware analysis and prevention. He has collaborated with important research labs, including IBM T.J. Watson Research Center, and NTT Docomo USA Labs. He has also served on several program committees for conferences in both cryptography and applied security, and co-organized the Latin American Theoretical Informatics Symposium '06. Prof. Hevia is a recipient, among others, of the Marcos Orrego Puelma Award (1999), the president's MIDEPLAN Scholarship (1999), and the R.B. Wooley Jr. Fellowship from the Irwin & Joan Jacobs School of Engineering at UCSD (2003-3004). Prof. Hevia is director of the Chilean Computer Emergency Response Team (CLCERT), and founding member of the Applied Cryptography and Security Laboratory (CASLAB) of the University of Chile.
- Esteban Maldonado:
Pertenece a la Brigada Investigadora del Cíber Crimen (BRICIB)
desde su fundación y su cargo actual es Subcomisario.
Se desempeña como Jefe de Análisis Forense Informático,
habiendo participado activamente en la creación, desarrollo y
aplicación de técnicas de trabajo informático forense,
levantamiento de evidencia electrónica y mecanismos de informe
adecuados al nuevo proceso penal. En el marco del nuevo sistema procesal penal,
le ha correspondido participar reiteradamente en juicio oral, en calidad de
Perito Informático, donde ha debido presentar pruebas y explicar los
mecanismos de levantamiento, tratamiento y análisis de evidencias
criminalístico informáticas. En la actualidad integra el Grupo
de Trabajo "Informática y Telecomunicaciones", al interior de la
Comisión Técnica Institucional para las reuniones de Ministros
del Interior del MERCOSUR y países asociados. Es capacitador registrado
en el FIEC (Foro Iberoamericano de Encuentro de Cíber Policías)
y Grupo Latinoamericano de Delitos Informáticos, en materias
tecnológicas, legales, forenses e investigativas.
- Carlos Martinez-Cagnazzo:
He is an Electrical Engineer from Uruguay with more than 10 years of
experience in the Telecommunications market. He started working in
Operations and Management of IP networks and gradually transitioned
to Computer Security. Since 2005 he has been working exclusively in
the field of computer security for CSIRT-ANTEL, the computer security
incident response team of ANTEL (the largest telecom operator in Uruguay).
Since 2007 Carlos has been the chair of the Network Security mailing
list and Network Security Forum; both hosted by LACNIC.
Carlos also teaches classes on Computer Security and Computer
Networking for both the Computer Science Institute of
Universidad de la República and
Universidad de Montevideo.
His current research interests include honeypots, honeynets, security in IPv6, and secure, automated security information sharing across administrative boundaries.
- Fernando Miranda:
Es investigador en CoreLabs, el equipo de investigación de
Core Security Technologies desde 2005, y completó la licenciatura
en Ciencias de la Computación en la Universidad de Buenos Aires.
Entre sus áreas de investigación se encuentra:
Simulación de cyber-ataques, visualización de datos,
análisis de riesgo, entre otras.
- Carlos Samaniego:
Profesional con más de 10 años de experiencia en seguridad de la
información. Cuenta con las certificaciones internacionales CISSP, CISA,
CISM, Lead Auditor ISO 27001 e ITIL Foundations. Es implementador
certificado de Sistemas de Gestión de Seguridad de la
Información (ISO/IEC
27001:2005), y ha logrado que varias empresas se certifiquen en el

- Fermin Uribe:
Es Ingeniero Civil en Computación de la Universidad de Chile.
Actualmente trabaja como Ingeniero de Proyectos en NIC Chile y fue
Administrador de Sistemas en el Departamento de Ciencias de la
Computación de la Universidad de Chile.
- Kenneth van Wyck:
Kenneth R. van Wyk is an internationally recognized information security expert
and author of the O'Reilly and Associates books, Incident Response and Secure
Coding. In addition to providing consulting and training services through his
company, KRvW Associates, he currently holds
numerous positions: Founder and moderator of the "Secure Coding" mailing list, Member of the Board of Directors and Steering
Committee for non-profit organization, FIRST.org, Inc., monthly columnist for Computerworld, and a
Visiting Scientist at Carnegie Mellon University's Software Engineering Institute.
Ken has 20+ years experience as an IT Security practitioner in the academic,
military, and commercial sectors. He has held senior and executive technologist
positions at Tekmark, Para-Protect, Science Applications International
Corporation (SAIC), in addition to the U.S. Department of Defense and Carnegie
Mellon and Lehigh Universities.
Ken also served a two-year elected position as a member of the Steering
Committee, and a one-year elected position as the Chairman of the Steering
Committee, for the Forum of Incident Response and Security Teams (FIRST)
organization. At Carnegie Mellon University's Software Engineering Institute,
Ken was one of the founders of the Computer Emergency Response Team
(CERT®). He holds an engineering degree from Lehigh University and is a
frequent speaker at technical conferences, and has presented tutorials
and technical sessions at CSI, ISF, USENIX, FIRST, AusCERT, and others. Ken
is also a CERT® Certified Computer Security Incident Handler.
